Is anybody listening?

OK. Seriously...I've had it.

Why...WHY...does Britney qualify as news?

I'm listening about our presidential election...because, really...that's kind of a big deal.

Y'know?

And there hasn't really been one time when the politics aren't followed by "...and next up, Britney's released from the hospital..." 0r "...next, we'll talk about whether Britney is suffering from mind control...".....

I'm so over Britney.

I get that she has issues. But is she really as important as who might possibly be Commander in Chief?

Seriously?

And it's not just the entertainment shows anymore...it's EVERY FLIPPIN' CHANNEL!

Come ON! Anderson Cooper....Matt Lauer....GAH!

How do they even keep a straight face?

Ok. Rant over.

The sooner we stop paying attention to attention-starved celebrities and their various vices and breakdowns the sooner we will start to see less and less of that ridiculous behavior. And the sooner we'll stop caring about who's wearing panties and who's not, who's in rehabd and who's not, who's having an affair with the nanny and who's not. *le sigh*

To borrow from one of your posts long ago, I wonder what Cameron Diaz thinks of all this. :-)

While I agree since I don't care what Britney does, I think it's reported as news so that we all can talk to acquaintances about something else other than the weather. And since people talk about it, news organizations assume it's important. I mean, if you got on the elevator with random acquaintances and started talking politics, you'd probably get a lot of quiet discomfort from a lot of people, even though it's a much more important (and to me, interesting) conversation.

I agree 1000% percent... I'm about to check into a psych ward just to get away from it all.

Britney, Britney, Britney some nights I'm not so sure she isn't running for an office...office drug-slut. Did you hear? She bought a house on the beach to get some relaxation...got it for 2.5m less than asking...OOOOO

I appreciate the attention she is bringing to bipolar disorder since a mental illness does become more normalized when a celebrity is suffering from x, y, or z. BUT give me a break, this does not warrant or deserve the coverage it is getting.

It also annoys me that any doctor or celeb who states an opinion about Britney is also worthy of being splashed on the internets and news channels.

It's driving me crazy too! Not to mention that I think it's WILDLY inappropriate to chase/harass/photograph someone who is clearly suffering from a disease and who is seeking treatment! I can NOT believe there aren't paparazzi laws!

you know, we feel pretty much the same about the Royal family...okay there are occasions when they do something interesting but other than that the only people who seem to think that their every move is fascinating are the press
